TuneIn on PS4

When Sony first announced the PS4, I was really excited. Having been a PS3 owner for a long time, I knew that I would be impressed by the PS4. One thing that I personally love about Sony and the PlayStation brand is the PlayStation Plus service where subscribers receive free games each month.

However, in the world we live in, a games console isn't just about games. Whilst I admit the PS4 is more game centred than the Xbox One[1], there is still a degree of an entertainment centre to the PlayStation.

Sony announced that when the PS4 was launched in the EU on 29th February 2013, it would launch with 18 apps and services[2]. They went on to announce that by Spring 2014 a further 20 new apps would be available[2:1].

Out of these 38 apps, the one that stood out the most to me was TuneIn. If you aren't sure what TuneIn is, or what they do, head over to their website here and I'm pretty sure it will soon become clear.

There is no doubt in my mind that as I type this, and as you're reading this, you'll be wondering why I am bothering to bring this topic to light. Well, we are fast approaching Spring 2015 and there is still no sign of the TuneIn app for PS4.

I cannot find anywhere online that can confirm or deny if the app is still going to be released at a later date. An email has been sent to the Press office at TuneIn, hopefully they will be able to shed some light on the subject.
