Apple's latest iOS software has a built in HealthKit app which is great for displaying all health data from different health apps and also the built in motion sensor (iPhone 5S and newer). However, is your data backed up?
It is not backed up to iCloud. If you backup to a computer you have more chance.
When I saw that Apple had released iOS 8.3 to developers, I quickly jumped on my Mac, backed up to iTunes and restored to the latest build. However, I was gutted when I noticed my health data had all been lost.
Having looked online a lot it became clear to me that you must select to encrypt your backups for health data to be backed up.
So if, like me, you enjoy viewing your health data make sure you select to encrypt your backups and also backup as often as you see fit to iTunes. Unfortunately I had to learn the hard way, but at least I have now learnt.
